SINGAPORE, 1 September 2021 – With Singapore hosting the inaugural Global Esports Games in December 2021, Singapore Esports Association (SGEA) will roll out an athlete development programme, or “Road to GEG 2021” for Singapore’s National Team, which will be selected by the end of September 2021.
The Singapore 2021 Global Esports Games, co-organised by the Global Esports Federation, is scheduled to take place from 16th December to 19th December 2021.
Athletes selected for the Global Esports Games National Team will participate in the Road to GEG 2021 development programme which will focus on the physical, dietary and mental aspects of high performance in esports. Topics covered in the programme will range from general health, avoidance and rehabilitation of common esports related injuries to nutrition as well as mental resilience to deal with the pressures of high level tournament play.
SGEA has partnered with the International Sports Academy (ISA) – Singapore’s premier Private Education Institution (PEI) specialising in sports science, fitness and exercise science – to prepare the syllabus for the selected esports athletes.
